Spirit Week
by Jordin Lim
On September 23rd-27th, Science Academy had their first Spirit Week of the 2024-2025 school year. It really was a blast, with lots of people participating every day. From clever cosplay costumes to comfy pajama pants, the Science Academy student body excelled in showing their school spirit!
Our ASB really outdid themselves with their vibrant posters illustrating each of the days of Spirit Week:
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Culture Day
Wednesday: Cosplay/Twins Day
Thursday: Business Casual Day
Friday: Jersey Day
Monday - Pajama Day
To begin the week, Science Academy dressed in their comfiest pajamas.
Tuesday - Culture Day
On Tuesday, many Science Academy students showed up to school in outfits that represented their culture.
Wednesday - Cosplay/Twin Day
On this day, students were encouraged to let their creativity run loose and show their best cosplay outfits or twin with their friend.
Thursday - Business Casual Day
On Thursday, students suited up and showed off their best business casual outfits.
Friday - Jersey Day
Spirit Week concluded with Jersey Day, where students and staff wore jerseys of their favorite teams.
Friday - Extended Lunch Activities
As a special treat, ASB surprised us with an extended lunch and many fun activities on the last day of Spirit Week. There were various games to play including cornhole, Connect 4, potato sack racing and, what I would call the highlight of the day, a dunking competition! Students and teachers took turns going against fellow students or teachers in an attempt to dunk on each other (or to just score). It was exhilarating watching the crowd get riled up over the next competitors and scream for whoever was victorious.
Spirit Week was truly a blast! Being able to see my fellow students show their creativity through their outfits and enjoy time with friends via fun activities at lunch makes me excited for the rest of the year. I can’t wait to see all the events ASB has planned this year, and I bet the Science Academy student body can’t either!
